How to make it

  • Melt the butter and the water and heat until it starts to boil.
  • Put it aside.
  • Sift the flour, baking powder and slat together.
  • Beat the eggs till light.
  • Pour the sugar into the eggs and mix it well.
  • Stir the dry ingredients into the egg mixture.
  • Add the warm water mixture and beat 1 minute long.
  • Bake it 15 till 20 minutes in the oven at 190C.
  • Melt the butter and syrup together en pour the warm syrup mixture over the cake as it comes out of the oven.
  • Serve it with custard or cream.
