Syrup Cake

- 75ml warm water shopping list
- 30g margarine shopping list
- 250ml flour shopping list
- 5ml baking powder shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 125ml sugar shopping list
- 5ml vanilla essence shopping list
- syrup shopping list
- 50g butter or margarine shopping list
- 50ml syrup or honey shopping list
How to make it
- Melt the butter and the water and heat until it starts to boil.
- Put it aside.
- Sift the flour, baking powder and slat together.
- Beat the eggs till light.
- Pour the sugar into the eggs and mix it well.
- Stir the dry ingredients into the egg mixture.
- Add the warm water mixture and beat 1 minute long.
- Bake it 15 till 20 minutes in the oven at 190C.
- Melt the butter and syrup together en pour the warm syrup mixture over the cake as it comes out of the oven.
- Serve it with custard or cream.
