No, you don't have to shape these to look like snowflakes but they are as light as snowflakes.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

Directions
  1. Blend shortening, butter, salt, confectioners' sugar and vanilla.
  2. Stir in flour and chopped pecans.
  3. Drop by tablespoon onto cookie sheet.
  4. Place a 1/4 slice of a maraschino cherry in the center.
  5. Bake in a slow 325 degree oven for 25 minutes.
  6. Allow them to cool then roll in confectioners’ sugar.
  7. You can also shape the cookies into small balls, flatten them with the bottom of a glass and make colored icing for them.
