How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.In two round tube pans grease and flour the pans.
- Have butter, eggs and milk at room temperature.In the bowl cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy with an electric mixer.Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each one.Sift together the dry ingredients and add them alternately to the batter with the milk. Mix thoroughly.Add the lemon rind and juice.Carefully fold chocolate chips.
- Bake for 1 1/4 hours.Let cool 10 minutes in the pan before turning it over out onto a rack to cool completely.
- Serve warm or cold.
