- 4 cups flour shopping list
- 3 heaping teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup shortening shopping list
- Enough buttermilk to mix shopping list
How to make it
- Mix shortening into dry ingredients then add enough buttermilk to make soft dough.
- Roll thick and cut in strips 3” long and 1” wide.
- Cut a slit in center about 1” long and slip one end through slit to form tangles effect.
- Fry in deep fat until golden brown.
- Serve with molasses or honey.
