How to make it

  • WASH AND CUT UP YOUR HEN
  • ADD CHICKEN AND SAUSAGE WATER AND YOUR VEGGIES AND SEASONING INTO A LARGE DUTCH OVEN
  • COOK ABOUT 1 HOUR OR UNTIL CHICKEN IS DONE AND FALLING OFF THE BONE AND SAUSAGES ARE COOKED
  • REMOVE CHICKEN AND SAUSAGE FROM BROTH
  • REMOVE BAY LEAVES, CELERY, AND ONION FROM BROTH
  • MEASURE OUT 6 CUPS OF BROTH AND RESERVE ANY LEFT OVER BROTH IN SEPERATE CONTAINER
  • ADD 3 CUPS OF RICE TO DUTCH OVEN THEN ADD IN BROTH
  • DEBONE CHICKEN AND PUT INTO THE POT
  • ADD SAUSAGE INTO THE POT
  • BRING TO A BOIL, STIR SEVERAL TIMES SO RICE DOESN'T STICK TO POT OR CLUMP
  • REDUCE HEAT TO LOW , KEEP STIRRING AND PUT LID ON DUTCH OVEN AND COOK FOR 40 MINUTES OR UNTIL RICE IS DONE.
