- ~ Buckwheat Pancakes ~ shopping list
- 2 teaspoon yeast shopping list
- 2 Cups Fresh milk...scalded and then cooled down to lukewarm shopping list
- 2 Cups flour...Buckwheat shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 1/2 Tablespoons Sweet molasses shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda...dissolved in 1/4 cup of lukewarm water shopping list
- 1 Farm Fresh egg shopping list
- 1/4 Cup Fresh Churned butter...melted shopping list
- ~ With sugar On Top syrup ~ shopping list
- 1 1/2 Cups sugar shopping list
- fresh cream...Just enough liquid to make a thick syrup shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Home-made vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- ~ For Your Buckwheat Pancakes ~
- Place yeast in bowl and slowly add the milk.
- Stir to dissolve.
- Stir in the Buckwheat flour,salt,until it is nice and smooth.
- Cover Up...and let stand out overnight.
- Stir in the sweet molasses,baking soda,egg,and oil.
- Heat your griddle...until a mere drop of water dances on the surface...then lightly grease.
- Pour the mixture onto the hot griddle to make cakes about 2-1/2 Inches in diameter.
- Cook until surface bubbles,and cakes are set,light brown on underside.
- Turn and brown the other side.
- ~ With Sugar On Top Syrup ~
- Put your cream,and sugar on a burner.
- Bring to a boil...May boil over...so watch carefully.
- Allow to boil for a few seconds,then remove from flame.
- Add 1-1/2 teaspoons Vanilla...home made
- Pour over your Buckwheat Pancakes with an over medium egg on top.
- ~ Serve With... Well, Just Cuz' ~
- Couple Thick Slices of Country Ham...Fried...With Red Eye Gravy
- Couple of Farm Fresh Eggs...Cooked over medium...Salt and Peppered
- Good Helping of Hash Browns...Fried Crisp,with Hunt's Ketchup on top.
- A bowl of Stewed Apples with Crimson Cinnamon,and a smiggen of the home made syrup
- Couple of Cups of Strong Coffee...the kind that when you turn the cup upside down...it stays in the cup kind of coffee...country cream and sugar,of course.
- Tall glass of cold fresh milk with a tablespoon or two of Ovaltine stirred in.
- ~ Now get on with the day...Your Burnin' Daylight ~
