How to make it

  • ~ For Your Buckwheat Pancakes ~
  • Place yeast in bowl and slowly add the milk.
  • Stir to dissolve.
  • Stir in the Buckwheat flour,salt,until it is nice and smooth.
  • Cover Up...and let stand out overnight.
  • Stir in the sweet molasses,baking soda,egg,and oil.
  • Heat your griddle...until a mere drop of water dances on the surface...then lightly grease.
  • Pour the mixture onto the hot griddle to make cakes about 2-1/2 Inches in diameter.
  • Cook until surface bubbles,and cakes are set,light brown on underside.
  • Turn and brown the other side.
  • ~ With Sugar On Top Syrup ~
  • Put your cream,and sugar on a burner.
  • Bring to a boil...May boil over...so watch carefully.
  • Allow to boil for a few seconds,then remove from flame.
  • Add 1-1/2 teaspoons Vanilla...home made
  • Pour over your Buckwheat Pancakes with an over medium egg on top.
  • ~ Serve With... Well, Just Cuz' ~
  • Couple Thick Slices of Country Ham...Fried...With Red Eye Gravy
  • Couple of Farm Fresh Eggs...Cooked over medium...Salt and Peppered
  • Good Helping of Hash Browns...Fried Crisp,with Hunt's Ketchup on top.
  • A bowl of Stewed Apples with Crimson Cinnamon,and a smiggen of the home made syrup
  • Couple of Cups of Strong Coffee...the kind that when you turn the cup upside down...it stays in the cup kind of coffee...country cream and sugar,of course.
  • Tall glass of cold fresh milk with a tablespoon or two of Ovaltine stirred in.
  • ~ Now get on with the day...Your Burnin' Daylight ~
