How to make it

  • After you boil the cod let it cool for 10 minutes and flake it into a bowl. See Photo
  • Add egg, flour, garlic, onion and parsley. See Photo
  • Mix well together until you get a paste. See Photo
  • Fry each cake over medium-high heat (I used 1 tbsp as a measure) 2 or 3 minutes each side, until golden. See Photo
  • Serve with tomato rice - codfish fritters best friend :)

    Luisa, answered to that question at your page. But to clear that to everyone I just added the portuguese name to this dish which is Pataniscas de Bacalhau. The cakes made with mashed potatoes are called Bolinhos de Bacalhau :)
