Orange Madelines

- 4 large eggs shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract shopping list
- 1 stick butter melted and slightly cooled shopping list
- 1 cup all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoon orange zest finely minced shopping list
- 1/4 pound semi sweet chocolate melted shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease 24 madeline molds.
- 2. In a bowl combine the eggs, sugar and vanilla and with the mixer set on high speed cream the mixture until pale and fluffy about 10 minutes.
- 3. In another bowl combine the flour and baking powder.
- 4. Add the zest and half of flour to the mixer and beat on medium till blended.
- 5. Add the remaining flour to the mixture and blend.
- 6. Add the butter in a steady stream and continue beating until well blended.
- 7. Let stand for 10 minutes.
- 8. Spoon the batter in to the molds so that they are two thirds full.
- 9. Bake until lightly golden 18-20 minutes.
- 10. Remove from the oven and using a thin knife pop them out of the pans onto a wire rack and then dip in the chocolate.
