BLT Brunch Pie

- "PIE" shopping list
- 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil shopping list
- 1/2 cup shortening shopping list
- 1/2 cup sour cream shopping list
- "FILLING" shopping list
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise shopping list
- 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese shopping list
- 8 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon chopped onion shopping list
- 3 medium tomatoes, peeled and sliced shopping list
How to make it
- In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and basil.
- Cut in shortening until crumbly.
- Stir in the sour cream.
- Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Press pastry into a 9-inch pie place, with fluted edges if desired.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. COOL COMPLETELY.
- In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, bacon and onion.
- Layer half the tomatoes in the crust
- Top with half the mayonnaise mixture.
- Repeat layers.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve
- ***Reduced-fat Sour Cream or Mayonnaise may be used. I don't recommend Fat-free, as it's too runny when heated.**
