My Beer Butt Chicken With Essentialingredients Carolina Rub

- 1 3 lb. whole chicken shopping list
- 1 12 oz. beer shopping list
- Cooking spray shopping list

- 1 tspn garlic powder shopping list
- 1 tspn onion powder shopping list
- 1 tspn sugar shopping list
- 1 tspn paprika shopping list shopping list
- 1 tspn chili powder shopping list
- 1 tspn black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 tspn fine sea salt shopping list
How to make it
- Heat grill to 350, making sure to leave room for indirect heat
- Rinse chicken inside and out
- Pat dry with paper towel
- Open beer with can opener
- Drink or discard half can of beer
- Spray chicken with cooking spray
- Rub whole chicken with Carolina rub, adding any leftover to beer
- Place chicken on can of beer (using a beer can stand would be ideal)
- Stand on baking sheet
- Place on grill over indirect heat
- Grill, placing chickens back side to heat, turning 1/4 way every 15 minutes until done (about an hour)

I made this again, tonight, Wynne. (11/8/13) My son LOVED it. I did make using a similar rub as Essentialingregients that I whipped up. . Just used cayenne pepper instead of chili powder. Thanks again. : )
