How to make it

  • Lavez, équeutez et dénoyautez les cerises. Saupoudrez-les avec 2 cuillères à soupe de sucre.
  • Mettez l'eau et 1 cuillère à soupe de sucre dans une casserole, portez à ébullition 1 min et retirez du feu.
  • Versez le kirsch.
  • Trempez brièvement les biscuits dans le sirop au kirsch et tapissez-en un moule à charlotte.
  • Fouettez le fromage blanc avec 2 cuillères à soupe de sucre.
  • Ajoutez-y les cerises (gardez-en quelques-unes pour la déco) et des morceaux de biscuits. Versez l'ensemble dans le moule tapissé de biscuits entiers.
  • Recouvrez d'une couche de boudoirs imbibés. Posez une assiette et un poids sur le moule et réservez au réfrigérateur toute une nuit.
  • Au moment de servir, décorez de crème Chantilly, des cerises restantes et de copeaux de chocolat.

    This is the translation I can come up with.... but I'm a little confused about the directions. Where does the bulk of the chocolate go? And, boudoirs imbibés are lady fingers, but the biscuits are just cookies. Help, anyone? Both my simple French classes in school and google are failing me slightly. :) Sounds easy and impressive. ...a great recipe!! :) :)

    1 1/2lbs cherries
    30 biscuits(would probably be a simple shortbread type cookie)
    8oz cream cheese
    5 tablespoons powdered sugar
    1 1/4 cup water
    2oz kirsch(cherry brandy)
    1.75oz dark chocolate

    Wash, stem and pit cherries. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar.
    Put the water and 1 tablespoon sugar in a saucepan, boil 1 minute and remove from heat.
    Pour the kirsch.
    Briefly dip the biscuits in the syrup with kirsch and line-in a charlotte mold.(a trifle dish should work)
    Whip the cream cheese with 2 tablespoons of sugar.

    Add the cherries (keep some for decoration) and pieces of cookies. Put all in pan lined with biscuits whole.
    Cover with a layer of soaked ladyfingers. Place a plate and weight on the pan and refrigerate overnight.
    Just before serving, garnish with whipped cream, cherries and remaining chocolate chips.
