- 500g minced beef shopping list
- 1 cup of milk shopping list
- 2 slices of bread shopping list
- 1 large onion finely chopped shopping list
- 1 tbs sugar, shopping list
- 1tsp butter shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tbs curry powder shopping list
- 2 tbs white vinegar shopping list
- 2-3 tbs fruit chutney (Mrs Balls chutney is BEST)from a South African store OR apricot jam also works well shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
How to make it
- 1. soak bread in 1/2 cup of milk then squeeze out and crumb into mince. Blend well.
- 2.Melt butter in frying pan and brown onions-once soft add jam/chutney,vinegar,sugar,salt and curry,stir then add meat/bread mixture and brown for a few mins.
- 3.add mixture to a ovenproof dish.
- 4. Beat eggs and mix with remaining milk and pour over mince.
- 5.cook at 180 c/350F for 30 mins or until set and golden brown.
- 6.Serve with yellow rice ( just add a teaspoon of tumeric when cooking) and your choice of veg. Traditionally it is eaten with sliced bananas-and don't forget a extra serving of Mrs Balls!! Enjoy : )
