  • Rub raisins in one fourth cup of flour,cut gumdrops in pieces,add one cup sugar,shake in paper,lightly fry pecans in two tablespoons butter,mix applesauce with the beaten eggs,one cup sugar,butter and mix well to the above,sift flour,salt,spices,adding to mixture alternately with the soda dissolved in the warm water,bake in a bread pan,lined with waxed paper at three hundred for one and one half hours...This makes a very large cake,so it may be better to bake in little foiled pans for about one hour. shopping list

How to make it

  • If you don't have the time to wait...then this one takes the cake...
  • ~ Nine and One Half Minutes ~
  • 2 and 1/2 Cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 Eggs...beaten
  • 1 Jar...Ready To Use Mincemeat
  • 1 Can Eagle Brand
  • 1 Cup Walnuts...coarsely chopped
  • Grease a nine inch tube pan,line with waxed paper,grease liner,sift flour and soda,combine remaining ingredients,fold in dry ingredients,pour into pan,bake at three hundred degrees for two hours,or until done...Cool off,then remove from pan,brush with heated corn syrup...Store wrapped in a cool place.

  • It's purdy easy...It takes on it's surrounds and disappears quickly!
