How to make it

  • Set the salmon aside in a glass baking dish,while you mix the other ingredients to create a marinade.
  • Pour the marinade over the salmon and leave it to chill out for about an hour in the ice box,turn the salmon occasionally to cover the whole fish in the mixture.
  • The oven is at 375 degrees,remove the salmon from the refrigerator and place in foil,pour the remaining marinade over the salmon before sealing the package,place sealed salmon in a baking dish and bake for about thirty five to forthy five minutes,or until the salmon can be flaked
  • Sides...Anything green,such as a Waterchess Salad,and something Orange...no,not Asian Orange...just an orange vegetable.I like sweet potato very much with just a tad of butter and brown sugar,and a hunk of homemade bread with homemade butter...Wine...your choice.

  • 3 Cups Sugar
  • 2 Cup Butter...softened
  • 6 Eggs...beaten
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1/4 Cup Apricot Brandy
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Peach Schnapps
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest
  • 1 Cup Apricot Preserves
  • 1/2 Cup Apricot Brandy
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest
  • 1/2 Cup Almonds
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Butter and flour one angle food cake pan.
  • Cream together the butter and sugar for about five minutes,add the eggs one at a time,beat well,sift flour with the soda and salt,and then add sour cream and brandy,ending with the flour.
  • Bake for one hour and fifteen minutes.
  • Prepare the syrup in a pan by combining the sugar,peach liqueur,water and lemon zest,boiling for one minute,or so.
  • Turn cake out onto your favorite cake stand,and prick with several holes in the bottom of the cake with an ice pick.
  • Slowly pour the syrup over the cake until the syrup penetrated the cake,and then immediately turn the cake right side up.
  • Combine the apricot preserve,apricot brandy and lemon zest in a pan and boil for about one minute,drizzle over the cake,placing sliced almonds on top of the glaze along with a little lemon zest.
  • It's never to late to remember the date and place it on the plate.
