Easy Mini Rolls

I just found this recipe in my original box. Flashed back to 1990's and kitchen oven unreliable The cook (me) did not follow directions and my fingers were glopped with gooey dough, and unable to make little balls! Read more ! Am going to try this with savory topping. King Arthur Flour site has a fantastic easy to grasp explanation re when to add baking soda + use less baking powder in quick breads. The recipe states 18 rolls. I made 14 sweet rolls, and have 1/3 of the dough left for savory. See less
Ingredients
- Topping:: mix ingredients together in a small bowl. shopping list
- 1 1/2 T. sliced almonds --I walnuts, chopped shopping list
- 1 T butter shopping list
- 1 T corn syrup--I molasses shopping list
- 2 t.sugar shopping list
- 1 t. cinnamon shopping list
- Dough: shopping list
- Into deep bowl combine dry ingredients: shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 T sugar shopping list
- 2 1/2 t baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 t. salt shopping list
- 1/4 t. baking soda (because I used soured milk) If using sweet milk, do not add baking soda. shopping list
- Liquid Ingredients: shopping list
- 1/3 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 2/3 cups milk shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease cookie sheet.or silpat. Mix milk w/butter. Pour liquid into the center of dry ingred. and with a fork,keep stirring until it "rounds up" into a ball. Beat dough 25 times ( I did 17!)
- Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls about 1 inch apart.
- Top with the topping, a little goes a long way. Bake 12 mins or until golden brown.
