Ingredients

How to make it

  • Add ingredients in order in to your bread maker except for the caraway.
  • Brush a little of the melted butter in to your 1/3 cup measure before measuring out your molasses. You will find the thick syrup will release easily.
  • I tossed my flour to lighten it, and used the back of a knife to measure evenly.
  • Start the bread maker (2 lb light loaf) and check in the first minute or so to confirm that the dough is forming in to a smooth ball.
  • If the dough is sticky and liquid add flour a tablespoon at a time until it forms up.
  • If the dough is crumbly add water a tablespoon at a time.
  • The bread maker should have two kneading sessions. Add the caraway at the second kneading so the seeds aren't completely crumbled in the final loaf.
  • Allow the bread maker to do its thing.
  • If you want to make your own loaves, pick the dough setting. Form up the dough in to a dozen buns in your muffin pan or any other shape that suits. Let rise for thirty minutes in a warm place covered with a tea towel.
  • Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for twenty to thirty minutes.
