How to make it

  • 1. Keep pie shell refrigerated until ready to use.
  • 2. For topping, mix flour with brown sugar in a medium sized bowl. Cut in butter until it resembles cornmeal. Set aside.
  • 3. Mix sugar, flour nutmeg and cinnamon together. Toss this mixture lightly with apples.
  • 4. Remove the pie shell from the refrigerator and turn the apple mixture into the pie shell. .
  • 5. Spread the topping over the apple mixture and pat down firmly and evenly.
  • 6. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven until the apples are tender, about 45 to 60 minutes.
