How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix dry ingredients.
  • Cream shortening and sugar.
  • Blend in eggs and milk.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet, beating between adding.
  • Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake for 1 hour or until pick comes out clean.
  • While loaf is baking prepare glaze:
  • 3 T. lemon juice
  • 1/3 c. white sugar.
  • Pour glaze over hot loaf in pan. Let loaf sit in pan until glaze is cooled before removing from pan.
