Cherry Shortcakes

- 2 generous cups frozen sour cherries (not thawed) shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/8 tsp almond extract shopping list
- 1/4 tsp (or to taste) cinnamon or apple pie spice shopping list
- 2 Tbsp tapioca shopping list
- 4 sponge cake dessert shells shopping list
- whipping cream shopping list
- Slivered almonds shopping list
How to make it
- Cook and stir cherries, sugar, almond extract, and cinnamon in medium saucepan until sugar melts and the cherries are thawed. Mix in tapioca, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let sit for 10 minutes. Mixture will thicken. Place dessert shells into a small dish. Top with cherry mixture and whipping cream. Top with slivered almonds.
