Chickpea Dumplings

- 1 cup chickpeas drained shopping list
- 1/2 cup cornmeal soaked in a cup of water overnight shopping list
- 1/2 cup minced onion shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 3/4 cup white flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon curry shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 2 cups beef broth shopping list
How to make it
- Mash the chickpeas roughly with a fork in a large mixing bowl.
- Mince the onion and stir to combine.
- Add the cornmeal and egg and whisk together briskly.
- Melt the butter and stir in to the rest of the dry ingredients.
- Measure the dry ingredients on top of the wet and stir to blend.
- If the mixture is too wet for a dough add more flour to suit.
- Form in to balls and set aside as the beef broth is set to simmer in a pan.
- Set the dumplings in to the beef broth and continue to simmer until done, about ten minutes.
