- ORANGE chicken SAUCE shopping list
- 1/ 2 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice ( 2 oranges) shopping list
- Zest from one orange shopping list
- 3 tablespoons of soy sauce shopping list
- 4 tablespoons of honey ( if you like sweeter sauce add 1 more tablespoon) shopping list
- 1 tablespoon of rice wine vinegar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons of minced garlic shopping list
- 1 teaspoon of fresh minced ginger shopping list
- 1 tablespoon of orange marmalade (Optional) shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon of Sambal or red pepper flakes shopping list
- 2 tablespoons of corn starch shopping list
- FOR chicken shopping list
- 2 Pounds of chicken breast cut into 1-inch cubes shopping list
- 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seed oil shopping list
- 1 tablespoon of grapeseed oil shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste on chicken shopping list
How to make it
- In a mixing bowl whisk all your orange sauce ingredients together and set aside. Orange juice, zest, soy sauce, honey, rice wine vinegar, garlic, ginger, orange marmalade, sambal, and corn starch.
- 2. Add grapeseed oil and toasted sesame seed oil to saute pan on medium high heat. Add chicken and brown and cook thoroughly through around 6 to 10 minutes depending on the thickness of your chicken.
- 3. Remove chicken from pan and drain all the leftover oil from the pan. Add the orange sauce and chicken back to the pan on medium heat. The sauce should thicken up in 2 to 3 minutes then remove from heat.
- 4. Serve with your favorite rice or just add steamed sugar snaps to the orange chicken for a meal.
