Plain Bhakri ( Flat Skillet Biscuit )

- 1 cup whole wheat flour ( 1:1 coarse whole wheat flour : whole wheat flour shopping list
- 2 tbsp cup oil shopping list
- 1.5 TSP salt shopping list
- Water ( for kneading dough) - approx 1/2 cup shopping list
- clarified butter - 1 TSP for each bhakri shopping list
How to make it
- Take a deep bowl or Parat.
- Add flour n salt mix well.
- Add oil and crumble the mixture very well.
- Slowly add water and make a firm dough.
- Divide the dough into balls of equal sizes.
- Flat each ball using rolling pin. Each portion must be 4" or 100 mm in diameter.
- Heat a non stick griddle , place the bhakri on it.
- Cook it on medium flame putting light pressure on the bhakri with a muslin cloth or wooden pressure, till light brown spots appear on one side.
- Flip it over and cook it on other side till light brown spots appear.
- Then turn it on the high flame and cook on both sides till it puffs ups and brown spots appear on both sides.
- Remove from the flames and smear it with 1tsp ghee ( clarified butter).
- Repeat same for rest bhakri and serve.
