How to make it

  • Prepare chocolate cake mix using package directions.

  • Melt caramels and mix with margarine and evaporated milk.
  • Pour over baked cake layer.
  • Sprinkle with walnuts and chocolate chips.
  • Pour remaining cake batter over top.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Let cool completely and frost with chocolate frosting.
