Ingredients
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • ¾ cups sugar, divided use
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Grated nutmeg

Directions
  1. Combine milk, egg yolks and ½ cup sugar in a 2-quart glass batter bowl. Blending with a wire whisk every two minutes, microwave on high six to seven minutes, or until mixture coats a spoon. Blend in cream and refrigerate until chilled, about two hours. Beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually blend in remaining sugar. Fold into chilled mixture. Makes 9 (4-ounce) servings.
  2. Per serving: 215 calories; 4g protein; 13g fat; 20g carbohydrates; 133mg cholesterol; 60mg sodium.
  3. Serving suggestion: If desired, add ¾ cup rum, brandy or whiskey to recipe.
