A luscious dip that has the taste fo a BLT. Quick and easy but has that homemade appeal. Don't use prepared bacon bits. It takes the real thing to make it taste right.

You can leave out the lettuce entirely if you prefer. It really does not change the flavor and is there for color and authenticity to the image of a BLT. I need to get a picture.

Dugger,
How fine do you chop the lettuce? The recipe intrigues me but I'm not sure if the consistancy winds up like cole slaw or not. Definitely sounds tasty.

Oh no, not like cole slaw. The lettuce is just an adjunct to the basic dip. It should be the consistency of a sour cream dip with the bacon, tomato and lettuce just adding flavor. I generally just buy a bag of shredded lettuce in the salad section. If the lettuce concerns you just leave it out or cut it in half the first time you make it. This is one of those quickies.

I made something similar to this for a party and it was gone in a flash. served with toasted pita wedges drizzled with olive oil and sea salt and some garlic rubbed toast points. everyone loved it. glad you posted this!
