How to make it

  • Preheat the oven to 375.
  • Combine the flour, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  • Beat in the egg whites.
  • Beat in the melted butter until well blended.
  • Roll out and cut into 2" circles (either with a stencil or a cookie cutter), making sure there is at least 1/2" between each circle (tuille) on a baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle to top of each tuille with the sesame seeds.
  • Place in the oven and bake for about 3 minutes, until golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet.
  • When cool, using a spatula, carefully remove the tuilles from the baking sheet and store, separated with paper towels in a tightly covered container.
