Ugly Cake

This is a simpler version of my Great Aunt Pearl's recipe. She made he cakes from scratch, but my mother and I came up with this quick and easy version.
Ingredients
- 1 - box Betty Crocker butter recipe cake mix (you can use chocolate Butter Recipe if you prefer) shopping list
- 1 - 1 lb. box powdered sugar shopping list
- 1 - 8oz package Philadelphia cream cheese, softened shopping list
- 1/2 cup Parkay margarine, softened shopping list
- Note: I use these brands, because I get the best result with them shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a Bundt pan with cooking spray (I use Baker's Joy).
- Prepare cake batter as directed on package and pour into Bundt pan.
- Then beat cream cheese and margarine until smooth.
- (I use a spoon and do it manually to avoid any chunks of cream cheese)
- Gradually ad powder sugar to cream cheese mixture, beating until smooth. Keep adding until all powdered sugar is used.
- Spoon mixture on top of cake batter, then bake for 35 minutes.
- Remove & cool for 10 minutes (no longer!).
- Using a thin rubber spatula or butter knife, loosen cake from pan, don't forget to loosen around tube.
- Place cake plate over pan and flip. Spoon any extra gooey onto cake.
- Cool completely before serving.
