Afghans Recipe Malmer / All my dishes

These easy chocolate cookies are a NZ staple. Just kidding - my multicultural friends love 'em!!!

Ingredients
  • 7oz Butter
  • 3oz Sugar
  • 6oz Plain Baking Flour
  • 1oz Cocoa Powder
  • 2 cups Cornflakes

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 180 C
  2. Beat butter & sugar until light & fluffy.
  3. Sift flour & cocoa.
  4. Stir into creamed mixture.
  5. Fold in cornflakes.
  6. Spoon mounds of mixture onto a greased oven tray, gently pressing each mound together.
  7. Bake for 15 mins or until set. Ice with chocolate icing when cold, decorate each cookie with half a walnut or a pecan if liked.
