Ingredients
  • 1 5 oz. Box Fideos (or Vermicelli)
  • 2 Tbsp. Oil
  • To Taste Salt
  • To Taste Black Pepper
  • 6-8 Shakes Powdered Comino (Cumin)
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Onion (or Equiv. Instant Minced Onion)
  • 2-3 Cup Water
  • 1/2 8 oz. Can Tomato Sauce
  • 1 to 2 tsp. Chili Powder (Optional, recommended)

Directions
  1. - Break vermicelli into pieces and add to oil in hot skillet.
  2. - Stir-fry pasta until some of the pasta begins to turn a VERY LIGHT brown.
  3. - Add tomato sauce and spices and bring to a boil.
  4. - Reduce heat and SIMMER, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until "cooked down" to about the consistency of "Franco-American Spaghetti", or slightly drier.
  5. ******** Serving Suggestions ********
  6. Serve with Ham-Hock and Beans, Carne Guisada, Barbecoa, or other "sopa" spooned over top.
  7. Can also be used as a side dish to other entrees, such as tamales, tortillas, or any other menu where "Spanish Rice" would be used.
