Ingredients
- 1 small box cherry flavoured Jell-O
- 1 1/2 cups coke (or other cola drink), divided (1/2 cup should be cold)
- 1/2 cup white rum
- about 15 - 20 whole maraschino cherries
Directions
- Pour the Jell-O into a deep bowl.
- Place 1 cups of the cola in a small saucepan and heat very gently up to just boiling. (I know; it sounds weird, but it really DOES work...)
- Pour over the Jell-O crystals, and stir gently just until the crystals are completely dissolved.
- Pour 1/2 cup COLD cola into the bowl, along with 1/2 cup white rum. (I used less cold coke, more rum. What can I say???)
- Place a maraschino cherry in the bottom of each of 15 (or more) individual disposable plastic shooter (shot) cups. Pour the Jell-O mixuture over, filling the cups.
- Refrigerate until completely set.
- Serve with a toothpick, instructing your guests to use the toothpick to loosen the sides of the Jell-O (run the toothpice around the edges of the Jell-O), and then squeeze the cup and pop the shooter -- cherry and all -- into their mouths. YUM!
