Cherry Shortbread Recipe

Ingredients

2 ½ c flour

6 tbsp sugar

1 c butter

¼-1/2 c Nonuttin’ cherry chips

Directions

In medium bowl combine flour and sugar.

Using a pastry cutter, cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs and starts to cling.

Form the mixture into a ball, and knead until smooth.

Take ½ the ball and press into ungreased baking pan (8x8)

Sprinkle Nonuttin’ cherry fruit chips over the surface.

Take the other half of the ball and press it over the cherries until they are covered.

Bake at 325 degrees for 25-30 mins or until centre is set.

Cool, cut and enjoy!

*Can be frozen.

I was looking for a shortbread recipe and found this one. What a coincidence that I have some Nonuttin' cherry chips in my pantry that I need to use. I'll be making these tomorrow.
Update: These were really good. Unfortunately, my 5 year-old was not interested in them. I think they weren't sweet enough for him. The rest of the family liked them a lot and they were really good with coffee. Thanks for the recipe!
