This is an East Indian dessert. This dessert is so easy, very tasty and nutritious. It can easily be doubled.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup clarified butter known as ghee
  • 2 cups fine semolina or cream of wheat
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 ripe bananas cut in thin slices/rounds
  • Note: The bananas should be over-ripe. Using over-ripe bananas will give the best flavour to this dish.

Directions
  1. Heat the clarified butter. otherwise known as ghee in a pan.
  2. Roast the semolina on low heat stirring continuously for about 3 minutes or until the raw smell is gone and it gives a lovely fragrance.
  3. Add the milk, vanilla and sugar.
  4. Stir well.
  5. Add the banana slices/rounds and mix well.
  6. Keep stirring on a very low heat setting and heat for about 3 minutes or until all the moisture has evaporated.
  7. Makes enough for 4 servings.
