Cheeseburger Pie Recipe

My mom made this recipe when we were kids, and my brother and I still love it. Nobody grows out of crescent roll-crusted pies!

Ingredients
- 1 lb. extra-lean ground beef
- 1/2 C chopped onion
- 4 oz can sliced mushrooms
- 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 2 pkg. crescent rolls
- 3 eggs
- 6 processed cheese slices
- salt & pepper
Directions
- Use 1 package crescent rolls to cover a 9" pie plate.
- Brown meat, add onions and cook until soft. Add salt & pepper to taste, and tomato sauce.
- Mix together 2 whole eggs and one egg white (set aside egg yolk).
- Pour into pie shell.
- Pour meat mixture over egg mixture.
- Place cheese slices on top of meat.
- Mix remaining egg yok with 1 tsp water to make egg wash, and brush edges of bottom crust with wash.
- Add second package of crescent rolls to form top crust; pinch edges together.
- Make slits in top of crust, and brush with remaining egg wash.
- Bake at 350 - 20 minutes uncovered, then 20 minutes covered with foil.
