How to make it

  • Saute onion, bell pepper and celery in oil
  • Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan
  • Bring to a boil while stirring well
  • Cover and simmer until liquid is absorbed, about 10-12 minutes
  • Remove from stove and let rest for 5 minutes before serving
  • ***For a spicier creole taste, use Hot sausage, 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper or Louisiana Hot Sauce
  • ***Stove Top: add sausage to 2-3 inches of boiling water. Simmer for 10-12 minutes
  • ***Microwave: place sausage in microwave safe dish with 1/2 inch water. Microwave on high for 4-6 minutes. Allow sausage to sit 1 minute prior to serving
  • ***Grill: grill over medium-high heat for 12-14 minutes, turning frequently
