- 1 pkg. smoked sausage, any variety, sliced shopping list
- 2 tbsp. oil shopping list
- 1/4 cup chopped onion shopping list
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper shopping list
- 1/3 cup chopped celery shopping list
- 1/4 cup sliced green olives shopping list
- 1 pkg. Spanish rice mix shopping list
- 1 (10 oz.) can diced tomatoes and pepers shopping list
- 3/4 cup water shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Saute onion, bell pepper and celery in oil
- Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan
- Bring to a boil while stirring well
- Cover and simmer until liquid is absorbed, about 10-12 minutes
- Remove from stove and let rest for 5 minutes before serving
- ***For a spicier creole taste, use Hot sausage, 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper or Louisiana Hot Sauce
- ***Stove Top: add sausage to 2-3 inches of boiling water. Simmer for 10-12 minutes
- ***Microwave: place sausage in microwave safe dish with 1/2 inch water. Microwave on high for 4-6 minutes. Allow sausage to sit 1 minute prior to serving
- ***Grill: grill over medium-high heat for 12-14 minutes, turning frequently
