Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) whipping cream (35% MF)
- 10 ounces (300 g) bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 TBSP (15 ml) grated orange zest
- 2 TBSPS (25 ml) orange liqueur (Grand Marnier, Cointreau, Triple Sec, etc)
- 1 X 9-inch (23 cm) pie shell (or large pastry tart shell), baked
- 3 navel oranges
- 2 TBSPS (25 ml) apricot jam or marmalade
Directions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the cream to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in the chocolate. Let stand for about 3 minutes. Stir again, until well blended. Stir in the orange zest and liqueur. Pour the mixture into the pie shell and refrigerate for 3 hours, or until set.
- Peel the oranes, removing all the pith and skin. Slice into segments and place in a bowl. (Use a knife to slice the oranges, making sure the tough outer membrane of each section is removed as you go.)
- Just before serving, top pie with orange slices. In a small saucepan over low heat (or in a glass bowl in the microwave, using low power) melt the jam. Brush over the top of the orange slices and serve.
