How to make it

  • Spread some of the butter over the bottom of a jaffle iron
  • Spread the rest of the butter on 1 side of 2 pieces of bread
  • Preheat the jaffle iron
  • Crack 1 egg into each side of the iron (break the yoke over the centre split)
  • Put the un-buttered piece of bread on top of the egg
  • Load ham and cheese onto the bread - add salt and pepper to taste
  • Put the last piece of bread butter-side up
  • Cook for 5 minutes (don't peek!) once the egg is cooked it will come out easily
