How to make it

  • Slice beef and add marinade.
  • Wash broccoli and peel off tough outer layer.
  • Slice broccoli stems diagonally into paper thin slices and divide flowerets into 4 small sections.
  • Smash wedge of ginger.
  • Mix cornstarch, water and pepper then set aside.
  • Using a high flame heat pan and add 1 tablespoon oil, salt and ginger.
  • Add broccoli and stir then add stock and cover 6 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Uncover and stir then remove and set aside.
  • Heat pan again and add remaining oil.
  • When pan is red hot add beef and flatten against sides of pan.
  • Stir fry 45 seconds then add broccoli and stir in cornstarch mixture.
  • Cook until gravy thickens then serve immediately.
