- 1/2 pound beef shopping list
- 1 pound fresh broccoli shopping list
- 1 wedge ginger size of quarter shopping list
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 3/4 cup chicken broth shopping list
- beef Marinade: shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch shopping list
- 1 teaspoon light soy sauce shopping list
- 2 teaspoons sherry shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon vegetable oil shopping list
How to make it
- Slice beef and add marinade.
- Wash broccoli and peel off tough outer layer.
- Slice broccoli stems diagonally into paper thin slices and divide flowerets into 4 small sections.
- Smash wedge of ginger.
- Mix cornstarch, water and pepper then set aside.
- Using a high flame heat pan and add 1 tablespoon oil, salt and ginger.
- Add broccoli and stir then add stock and cover 6 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Uncover and stir then remove and set aside.
- Heat pan again and add remaining oil.
- When pan is red hot add beef and flatten against sides of pan.
- Stir fry 45 seconds then add broccoli and stir in cornstarch mixture.
- Cook until gravy thickens then serve immediately.
