- 4 dl/1.7 cups flour shopping list
- 1½ tsp baking powder shopping list
- ½ tsp salt shopping list
- ¼ dl/0.1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 large egg shopping list
- 2½ dl/1 cup milk shopping list
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (not olive!) shopping list
How to make it
- Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl and make a well in the middle. Add the egg and half of the milk. Mix to a loose batter. Whisk in the remaining milk gradually and add the oil.
- Heat a frying pan and lightly grease (if the pan is non-stick, never mind!). Use a tablespoon and make small "cakes" in the pan. Turn over when batter is dry on top and the opposite side is golden. Fry the other side until golden as well.
- Put the scones in a folded clean kitchen towel until all are fried, this way the first ones won't dry while the others are still frying.
- Serve either as they are or with butter and cheese or marmalade with a nice beverage. Makes 12-16 depending on how big you make them.
