Here is another Brownie recipe that can be added to the many other Brownie recipes.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 18 marshmallows, halved

Directions
  1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
  2. Cream shortening and sugar then add eggs.
  3. Beat well.
  4. Sift dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  5. Add vanilla and nuts.
  6. Bake in an 8 x 12 inch pan, for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
  7. Remove from the oven and put marshmallow halves on top.
  8. Return to oven for 3-4 minutes.
  9. Spread the melted marshmallows until the top is completely covered.
  10. Let cool.
  11. Frosting:
  12. 1/4 cup brown sugar
  13. 3 Tbsp. butter
  14. 1/4 cup water
  15. 1 tsp. vanilla
  16. 1 square unsweetened chocolate
  17. 1-1/2 cup powdered sugar
  18. Combine and boil for 3 minutes brown sugar, water, and chocolate. Add butter and vanilla and let cool.
  19. Then stir in powdered sugar.
  20. Spread or drizzle on brownies.
  21. Cut into squares.
