Ingredients
  • 600 g Red pie cherry filling
  • 300 g Plain flour
  • 100 g Caster sugar
  • 150 g Butter , room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 150 ml Low fat evaporated milk mixed with 1 tbsps Lemon juice
  • 1 L Egg
  • 50 g Blanched almonds

Directions
  1. Pre heat oven to 180 degrees
  2. Combine flour and sugar . Add the butter and mix with food processor until it is crumbly .
  3. Keep aside one third of it as crumbs .
  4. Add the baking pwd and soda to the two thirds .
  5. Add the egg to the milk and beat well .
  6. Add to the flour .
  7. Stir until wet .
  8. Spread most of it into a greased 22 inch springform pan .
  9. Spread the pie filling . Drop the remaining batter in small spoonfuls .
  10. Add almonds to the crumb mixture and spinkle evenly over the cake .
  11. Bake for 55 to 60 mins .
