Ingredients
  • 1 pound codfish
  • 4 large onions thinly sliced
  • Shortening
  • 8 potatoes
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1-3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • Mustard

Directions
  1. Soak codfish 30 minutes in warm water then drain and put in fresh water and boil 45 minutes.
  2. Fry onions in shortening until done and nicely browned.
  3. Wash rice and add 2 cups cold water then cover tightly.
  4. Let it come to a good boil and finish cooking in double boiler.
  5. Make sauce out of water, butter and cornstarch.
  6. Take some of each dish on plate then mix well and add 1/2 teaspoon mustard and mix again.
  7. Note: This can be mixed all together and baked for 30 minutes
