Dutch Codfish

- 1 pound codfish shopping list
- 4 large onions thinly sliced shopping list
- shortening shopping list
- 8 potatoes shopping list
- 1 cup rice shopping list
- 1-3/4 cup water shopping list
- 1/4 pound butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons corn starch shopping list
- 1/4 cup cold water shopping list
- mustard shopping list
How to make it
- Soak codfish 30 minutes in warm water then drain and put in fresh water and boil 45 minutes.
- Fry onions in shortening until done and nicely browned.
- Wash rice and add 2 cups cold water then cover tightly.
- Let it come to a good boil and finish cooking in double boiler.
- Make sauce out of water, butter and cornstarch.
- Take some of each dish on plate then mix well and add 1/2 teaspoon mustard and mix again.
- Note: This can be mixed all together and baked for 30 minutes
