Ingredients
  • PUDDING
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs,separated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • SAUCE
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions
  1. PUDDING
  2. Combine walnuts, dates, flour and baking powder.
  3. MIx sugar with egg yolks and vanilla and add to walnut mixture
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in
  5. Pour into 1 quart casserole dish set in pan of hot water
  6. Bake at 300 degrees F for 1 hour
  7. Serves 6
  8. SAUCE
  9. Cream butter and sugar.
  10. Blend with milk and vanilla and warm over pan of boiling water
  11. Serve pudding either hot or cold, with warm sauce
