Ingredients
  • 1 med head cabbage
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 3 sticks celery
  • 1 can tomato juice or V-8
  • 1 beef bullion cube (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Chop all veggies in 1 inch cubes
  2. Place in large steamer basket over enough simmering water that it won't boil dry.
  3. Cover and steam about 10 minutes until tender crisp
  4. Place steamed veggies in large pot and cover with juice.
  5. Add bullion or salt and pepper on heat through
  6. Can be served hot or cold. I really like it in the summer for a light supper. This was called a free food as it contains very low carbs and supposedly burns more calories to eat than it adds.

Good stuff, my mom did this too. I like it, not only for taste alone, but the memories too.
