Ingredients

1 watermelon

1 thumb nail

Directions

My Grandfather used to take his thumb nail and run it across the skin of the watermelon. The easer the skin peals back and if it peals back in one long line the riper the melon is. I can’t thump them and tell the difference between the thumps This works every time, especially with a seeded watermelon.

Sorry I guess I was not very clear, been doing it for years and take some things for granted. If you make a fist and turn your hand over then push your thumb nial along the watermelon if ripe it should cust curl like an apple peal.
