How to make it

  • I like the history of things and ran across this.
  • W.D.M. Bell,a Scotchman born near Edinburgh,Scotland in 1880.He went to Africa to hunt elephants for ivory when he was seventeen years old.He heard of the Alaskan gold rush while down in Africa and immediately went down to the Yukon. When the Boer war started he joined some Canadian volunteers.Bell stayed in Africa until the beginning of World War I.He returned to England, became a pilot and was sent back to Africa to fly under General Smuts. After the war he remained in Africa until 1932.He named the drink after a camp cook he had at the time.
  • Bell was quite a hunter ,professional ivory,(I do not like that type of hunting myself). For the most part he used only a small 6mm cartridge with a steel jacketed bullet,I guess about like shooting with a .243 Winchester.
  • All this from just now watching" Out of Africa" for the 8th time, got interested in digging deeper ,and come across this.
