How to make it

  • In a medium pot, saute garlic and onion in the oil until the onion is clear.
  • Add the drained beans.
  • Add fresh basil, cummin, ketchup, molasses, paprika and bouillon or soup base.
  • Cover with the beer until slightly covered.
  • Do not cover, simmer for 35 minutes. If it dries up too much, add more of the beer.
  • *great served with a salad of romaine, orange slices and greek olives.
