Goulash Recipe
This is something like how we make it growing up. We like to eat this with homemade bread.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 and 1/2 cups - 500g of beef or pork cut in chunks
  • 1 carrot sliced or chopped
  • sometimes I like to put potatos when it is cooking and sometimes I cook potatos or noodles alone
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 garlic clove mashed
  • 1 pouch beef powder called OXO or something like it
  • pepper how you like
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 4 or 5 cups - 1kg. sauerkraut
  • 2 flour
  • 1 cup or 1/4 liter table cream

Directions
  1. In a large cook pot heat up the oil to add chopped onion and cook not to brown.
  2. Add meat, carrots, bay leaf, garlic clove, oxo, pepper, paprika, and water to cover the meat and a little more. Sometimes I add red wine to the cooking water.
  3. Cover and let cook for about 60 minutes on medium heat or until the meat is tender.
  4. When the meat is cooked you add sauerkraut and let this simmer for another 30 minutes.
  5. Mix together 2 or 3 tbsp of flour and 1 cup cream.
  6. Add to the pot and mix everything together until it is boiling.
  7. I like to boil potatos or noodles and serve with bread.
  8. Always have sour cream to go on the side and sprinkle with fresh dill
