Winter Venison Recipe
This Winter Stew is a delightful meal for a hunter and his family.

Ingredients
  • 3 lbs deer meat
  • 2 cubed potatoes
  • 3 fresh scliced carrots
  • 1 can peas
  • 1 can corn
  • 1 can green beans
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 stalks celery chopped
  • 1 cup cabbage
  • water
  • dash salt
  • dash pepper
  • dash old bay seasoning
  • dash thyme
  • dash rosemary
  • dash garlic powder

Directions
  1. Place deer meat in slow cooker with spices and veggies.
  2. Adding veggie water from cans.
  3. Cover cook on high heat 5 to 6 hrs.
  4. Add tap water if necessary.
  5. Reduce heat stir and simmer 2 to 3 more hrs.
  6. Stew is done when meat pulls apart with little effort.
  7. Serves well with garden fresh salad
  8. And your favorite bottle of red wine.

Wonderful! My husband will always have a football player who wants "opening day" off from practice. He agrees as long as he gets some venison, and I never know how to fix it!!
