How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 425.
  • Fry the onions in the butter, cook until soft.
  • Add the flour and mix to thicken.
  • Add milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • Reduce heat to keep warm.
  • Separate the eggs.
  • Beat the egg yolks until creamy, and stir into the milk mix.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Beat the egg whites until stiff, and fold in.
  • Pour into a baking dish or casserole and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Serve immediately.
