  • 2 cups Great northern beans, soaked 4 hours
  • 1 large carrot, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can chicken broth, fat free reduced sodium
  • 5 cans water
  • Tie a "bouquet garni" with
  • 1 whole bunch Organo
  • 1 whole bunch Thyme
  • 1 whole bunch Parsley
  • 1 whole bunch Savory
  • Smack it few time them with the back of the knife before putting them in.

Directions
  1. Soak beans for 4 hours. In an 8 qt. sauce pot add beans, carrots, and onions. Add chicken broth, 5 cans of water and garni . Cook on low boil for 45-55 minutes until it reaches 75 % consistency. Cover and cool. Refrigerate or freeze. This base can be safely stored in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or in your freezer until the fat lady sings
  2. Per serving: 126 Calories; less than one gram Fat (3% calories from fat); 8g Protein; 23g Carbohydrate; 0mg Cholesterol; 73mg Sodium
